UMBC Men's Soccer Falls to UAlbany in Conference Match
The UMBC men's soccer team faced a 2-0 defeat against the UAlbany Great Danes in an America East Conference game held at Bob Ford Field on Friday night. UAlbany opened the scoring in the 19th minute after a turnover by the Retrievers. Midfielder Jordan Schullenberger intercepted the ball and set up a goal with a precise pass to Ivar Orri Gissurarson, who assisted Schullenberger for a low shot that found the net. In the second half, UAlbany secured their lead with a second goal, as a throw-in resulted in a defensive misplay, allowing Andre Navas to score from close range. The Retrievers struggled offensively, managing only six shots compared to UAlbany's nine, and were unable to convert on any scoring opportunities. Goalkeeper Emigdio Tormo Lopez saved two shots, while his counterpart, Andrej Krivokapic, made three saves. UMBC's next match will be against George Washington on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
